The fat sound of the ’60s
The ’60s…so many great bands, so many great tones. Pre CBS Fender Stratocaster guitars are considered some of the holy grail of guitars. While the ones from the ’50s are famous for the maple necks and open tone, the ones from the ’60s are known for their rosewood fingerboards and fat, bell-like tone. The Amber Pickups ’61 Special is set to capture the nuances of that era. Handmade using Heavy Formvar insulation, AWG42 wire and AlNiCo 5 magnets, the ’61 Special really is an authentic set. Amber chose to reverse the middle pickup by default, to eliminate hum in in-between positions.
