The Klone

The Klone

The Klone looks like a Klon with go-faster stripes. Within our extensive lineup of Klons & Klones, it’s one of the closest to the real Klon tone out of the bunch.

Sugar Sweet?

The Klon Centaur, which the Klone is inspired by, is a mythical creature in both fiction and real life. The prices are famously so high that even those who can afford one would struggle to justify doing so. It’s also drastically cheaper at just $190.

Compared to a Klon the Klone is a little smaller but the finish and attention to details are arguably better than the original.

Clever Klone

The Klone doesn’t just overdrive, just like Klons it:

  • Boosts – In a similar way to how a tube screamer can be used as a boost for many styles of music, so can a Klon. In fact, many people prefer Klons as boosts due to where the mid-range bump sits. For this reason, we have included a Boost playing style showing how it cleans up using the guitar’s volume.
  • Stacks – Klons stack with RATs very well but for some reason, if you have one try stacking it with your favourite overdrives and distortions.
  • Unlike the Klon, it’s still available to buy new today

RYRA brings much notice to how all components used are the very best available. The list of famous users plus the amount we see on boards shows that this pays off. We’ve been working hard at TonePedia to bring you as many Klons & β€œKlones” as possible and have a great blog about them here.Β
