The Sweet Honey Overdrive is a very popular pedal that gives your sound a special clipping effect.
What is an Overdrive?
An overdrive is a pedal that gradually transforms your guitar signal by gradually amplifying it. Afterwards, it adds a soft clipping effect until it reaches saturation.
The Mad Professor Sweet Honey Overdrive (SHOD) is a low gain overdrive pedal. It’s made to dynamically regulate minor overdrive on pure sounds and distorted amplifiers.
Also, pick attack and pickup strength can also alter the SHOD’s distortion levels. Moreover, harder picking and softer picking can be used to achieve overdrive and cleaner tones respectively.
This analogue pedal works on buffered bypass mode and has a battery consumption of 9V to 18VC of direct current. The Sweet Honey Overdrive has three control knobs: “Focus, Drive, and Volume.”
To achieve a distortion effect at low settings, you must press down hard on the focus control. This will also provide a gentle tone, which is ideal for blues and jazz. When you adjust the focus clockwise, you’ll get a tiny treble spike and early distortion.
Basically, this form of overdrive was previously only available in the Honey Bee pedal. However, it is now available in the Mad Professor version as well. The SHOD offers a smoother and more adaptable quality because it works with a variety of guitars and amps.
The manufacturers craft the Sweet Honey Overdrive in Finland from the highest quality parts. This ensures decades of excellent musical quality.
We notice that the Sweet Honey Overdrive has a special focus control. This helps you adjust the warmth and dynamics of your sound. It is a great pedal for your pedalboard.
