The 16 Series was originally developed to deliver high quality sound for a lower price range. The heart of the series is Martin’s Hybrid X bracing system which delivers a powerful tone, it became quite a favourite since first introduced to the market. The Martin D-16GT uses simple, yet solid woods and is a pretty straight forward guitar. It has nice overtones, quite a lively guitar with a warm, woody like sound. If you search for a more open guitar which is a little less deep sounding we recommend checking out the Martin D-16RGT. It is essentially the same model only with Rosewood back and sides.
