Furch Blue OM-CM

We All Love a Natural Wood Sound

The Furch Blue OM-CM is certainly easy on the eye, but then you’d expect nothing less from a Furch. This gorgeous, natural wood, premium, orchestra model guitar is everything you could want from a high-quality steel string for the affordable price of around $1000.
Of course, nobody could ever fault Furch for how their guitars look. What really matters is how they sound…

The Orchestra Model In All Its Glory

There’s no doubt that orchestra model guitars really are a classic design, particularly when it comes to their sound. Not only are they perfect for those deep, bassy tones, but they can also hold their own on the brighter end. By choosing the perfect materials to complement its strengths, Furch have enhanced this design’s natural qualities to create a guitar with real range. With an African Mahogany body, an American Red Cedar top, a beautifully thin open-pore finish and no unnecessary ornaments, this really is an amazing instrument.

That being said, there are a couple of flaws. The sustain is not as long as you might want, and it doesn’t have quite the punch you might get from a gloss-coated guitar, but the overall sound is warm and welcoming.

Should You Buy The Furch Blue OM-CM?

At the end of the day, there are hundreds of great guitars to choose from but if you pick the Furch Blue OM-CM, what you’ll get is a great instrument that will last you for years to come. For singer/songwriters, in particular, this model is the perfect bridge to that full, folky sound.

As always, we can only offer our opinions on this guitar, and the real decision is, of course, up to you. Then again, if you need a hand making your mind up, why not give it a listen here on TonePedia, for a truly unbiased sound review?
