The Classic Blackface amps of years gone are to many the ultimate studio tool. Traditionally at 12W with a 10″ speaker the TAD’s blackface upgrades things by taking the power upto 14W and increasing the speaker to 12″ thanks to Jensen.
These amps utilize point to point hand soldered circuits, full size foot switchable reverb tanks, foot switchable vibrato and cool bias tremolo á la Ry Cooder.
You won’t come closer to an original Princeton style amp in new condition than you can with the TAD Blackface.
If you’re so inclined these amps can be bought in kit form for you to build at home yourself.
